Continuing Education


NESTTD events are co-sponsored by the New England Society for the Treatment of Trauma and Dissociation and  The Institute for Continuing Education.  Continuing education credit is offered as described below.   


Programs that offer 3.00 hrs. of instruction time offer 3.00 CE contact hours ( half-day workshops or intensives).   Programs that offer 6.00 hours of instruction time offer 6.00 CE contact hrs ( full-day workshops). Full attendance is required.  Partial CE credit is not offered.


Continuing education credit is awarded for  full attendance. NOTE:  It is the responsibility of the attendee to determine if CE credit offered by The Institute for Continuing Education meets the regulations of their state licensing/certification board.  


Psychology:  The Institute for Continuing Education is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor  continuing education for psychologists. The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content.   


Counseling:   For counselors seeking CE credit, The Institute for Continuing Education will submit a co-sponsorship application to NBCC for this program.  This website will be updated with regard to approvals.


Social Work:  For social workers seeking CE credit, The Institute for Continuing Education will submit an application to NASW – MA Chapter for this program.   This website will be updated with regard to approvals.


Marriage/Family Therapy:  This program will not be submitted to NEAFAST for pre-approval for MA MFTs.


Nursing:   The Institute for Continuing Education is an approved provider of continuing education in nursing by the California Board of Nursing, Provider CEP 12646.  Nurses are responsible for checking with their state board to determine if credit issued through an approved provider of the CA Board of Nursing is acceptable by their state board.   


Skills Level:    Attendees are urged to review the session descriptions to determine appropriateness for professional and personal needs.


Instructional Methodology:  May include lecture, demonstration, audio/visual, experiential practice of techniques, large and small group discussion


All  Continuing Education Applicants, please note:

Programs that offer 3 hours of instructional time (i.e., half-day workshops or our intensives) provide 3 CE hours, Programs that offer 6 hours of instructional time (i.e., all-day programs) provide 6 CE hours,  No partial credit is given. Attendance for entire program is required.


To receive continuing education credit, attendees must:


1) Pay a separate CE fee either online or at registration at the event.


2) Obtain application forms on site at registration tables.


3) Sign IN at start of program & Sign OUT at end of program. Attendance for entire program is required.


4) At the end of the program, return completed CE  application and evaluation of training forms to registration tables.
