Please note that this event is on FRIDAY.
"Working Through Impasse in Complex Trauma Treatments: A Multi-case Conference Focusing on Dissociation, Enactment, and Negative Therapeutic Reaction"
The Intensive will focus on the therapist-client relationship and looking in depth at the transference/counter-transference issues as they emerge in the context of the treatment of trauma and dissociation. Dr. Chefetz is an expert in trauma and dissociation who utilizes a relational psychoanalytic approach to his clinical work. Dr. Chefetz is a psychiatrist engaged in private practice in Washington, D.C., faculty member, author of many published articles, and frequent presenter. He is known for his clinical acumen and humility. As the Intensive occurs the day before Dr. Chefetz’ all day program on shame, he has provided several published articles that will inform participants of his theoretical orientation and style of interaction with patients. These articles will be sent to those who register for the Intensive and it will be helpful for the participants to read some of the articles in advance.
The Intensive is organized around case presentations and a discussion of each case. Three to four participants will have 15 to 20 minutes to present a case. Dr. Chefetz will utilize a teaching strategy in which both he and Intensive participants will serve as consultants to the presenters. In order to know in advance and organize who will be presenting, please contact Ken Sipe at email@example.com if you would like to present a case in the Intensive.
CEs are not provided for this event or for any Intensive.
