You must attend the morning session to register for this intensive.


You will engage experientially in simple regulatory interventions to learn about the power of these tools to support changes in state and regulation in your child clients. We will role play ways to engage caregivers in the activities as well to increase generalization to the home. You will develop a simple plan to integrate some of these new tools into your existing practice.


Biography:


Anne Westcott has committed her career to serving children and families impacted by trauma. Since 1986, she has worked in public, private, school, and home-based settings. Anne is co-creator and trainer for the SMART program, a full body treatment approach for traumatized children developed at the Trauma Center @ JRI. In addition, she has been a faculty member of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute since 2009 and is collaborating on their children’s curriculum. She consults to and trains a broad range of therapists from those early in their careers in residential and community clinics to seasoned certified Sensorimotor psychotherapists in private practice. Anne is a lively presenter who weaves theory and research with clinical practice examples to convey useful and applicable information for everyone. She is co-authoring a series of children’s books for lay people to convey information about trauma and hidden resources in the body due this fall as well as a clinical book on SMART due in 2018. Currently, Anne leads a basic training in Affect Dysregulation and Traumatic Memory and advanced course in Emotional Processing and Attachment Repair in Chicago for Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.
