Membership Committee
Jessica Reed, LICSW, 781-559-3434
The Membership Committee actively seeks and encourages membership applications from qualified persons in the field of psychotherapy who are interested in the study and treatment of trauma and dissociation. This committee is driven by a mission to infuse NESTTD’s identity with a networking and community building potential. It implements ways to welcome and include new members at quarterly meetings, assesses and meets the networking and collegial needs of existing members, manages the on-line discussion group and forums, creates opportunities for professional networking during and outside of the quarterly meetings, updates and maintains the Membership list and the Therapy Referral list of the NESTTD web site, and conducts periodic surveys to assess members’ needs and priorities.

The Publicity Committee is vital to the organization. We are responsible for ensuing that information about NESTTD events is disseminated as widely as possible to individuals and agencies. To do this we compile and maintain a list of agencies, and identify a contact person in each one. We also identify educational institutions with training programs in psychological trauma and encourage graduate students to join NESTTD. We would welcome your involvement on our committee.
The Program Committee is responsible for choosing the topics and speakers for the four quarterly NESTTD programs and coordinating with the speakers on their presentations.
To make informed decisions, the committee members solicit input from NESTTD colleagues and membership surveys, and share knowledge from journals, trainings, ISSTD conferences, and clinical experience. It is not necessary to have a lot of experience to be a valued participant in this committee. Since the committee has enough “old-timers” we eagerly welcome those who are newer to the field. The Program Committee has the ability to find a niche for those who want to learn along with more experienced colleagues. We meet about six times a year and conduct most of our business via email.
