Membership
Thank you for your interest in the New England Society for the Treatment of Trauma and Dissociation (NESTTD).
Who we are:
NESTTD is a member organization made up of a group of professionals from related disciplines who are interested in the study and treatment of trauma and dissociation. We come together to learn from one another and from our invited speakers. One of our primary goals is to increase connection and collegiality.
Many professionals have encountered people who have survived some sort of trauma. Even if these people do not lead with trauma we often have to manage its consequences. NESTTD members prove to be invaluable resources to one another around trauma treatment. Our members range in experience from students to case workers, teachers, agency paraprofessionals and professionals, master clinicians, academics, and researchers.
We welcome all professionals who want to deepen their understanding of the effects of trauma and dissociation. Our membership is open to professionals from varied fields, including education, medicine, nursing, social work, anthropology, philosophy, theology, addiction studies, as well as mental health professionals.
Our Workshops:
Workshops are devoted solely to topics relevant to the study and treatment of trauma and dissociation. These workshops include introductory and advanced material. Participants learn from experts and peers, and share valuable experiences. Recent speakers have included Bessel van der Kolk, Claire Frederick, Barry Litt, and Dan Hughes.
- Continuing education credits are available for a small fee.
- Representatives from Professional Books in Newton attend our conferences so that the speakers’ books are available for purchase as well as other books on trauma and dissociation (www.professionalbooks.com)
- A free drawing for a $50 gift certificate from our bookseller at each conference.
- We are planning a basic training program introducing the concepts of dissociation
